Postoperative Bleed after PARS Plana Vitrectomy with Pre-Operative Intra Vitreal Bevacizumab in Diabetic Patients with Advance Diabetic Eye Disease

Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect preoperative intravitreal Bevacizumab on postoperative incidence vitreous cavity hemorrhage in patients with advance diabetic eye disease undergoing 23 gauge pars plana vitrectomy. Study Duration: This was conducted department Ophthalmology Services Hospital Lahore from April 2021 September 2021. Design: Randomized Controlled Trail Patients & Methods: Forty eyes forty were selected for three port vitrectomy (PPV) and split into two groups twenty each. One week before vitrectomy, Group A received bevacizumab (1.25 mg/0.05 ml) sham injection given B bleeding noted day one , seven graded no mild severe based clinical examination. Practical implication: To assess decrease potential risk following Results: had an average age 58.46 ±3.62 yrs mean duration diabetes among these trial 11.25±1.52 years (range 8-22 years). Out 20 15 (75.0%) bleeding, 4 (20.0%) 1(5.0%) bleed. In group out 11(55.0%) 7(35%) moderate 2(10.0%) hemorrhage. Conclusion: Preoperative Intravitreal prior found effective reducing disease.
